Bidrage med feedbackIs there a negative stars rating? If so, The Noodle will be the first place I would give that rating to.What kind of business ethics is chasing down customers for more tip? We have been dining at this restaurant for over 10 years. We do enjoy their food. We also, once upon a time... loved their service. Then the pandemic hit. They had a change of everything. They changed their menu and prices, they started offering dim sum, and they changed their staff. The one rating is for the scrambled eggs.Jessica, one of their servers is the rudest of them all. Does she hate her job, or does she hate anyone who isn 't Chinese? Ever since we first encountered how rude she was, we still kept going back, and each and every time, we always got the same ill-treatment from her. I have noticed that if the customer isn 't Chinese, she treats them very rudely. Don 't be racist, Jessica! I do not think one should tip for being treated rudely. It is ridiculous for me to give you a tip when you did not even want to put soup in our bowls. Yes, Jessica, we may not look Chinese, but we are from Hong Kong. We know that when we order soup, you are supposed to gather the bowls and put soup in them. The audacity of stopping us before getting in our cars and asking why we didn 't tip more was beyond me. It is amazing how stupid you are to think that we will give you any tip after your racist performance. After I said that I was not happy with the service, Jessica proceeded to shove the tip back to me saying Take it, we don 't want it. She even suggested that we should just go to McDonald 's next time. This all happened in front of our guest who we treated for her birthday. If this restaurant continues to let their unhappy staff, especially Jessica, do this to every customer, especially the non-Chinese, the hard work of the manager and the rest of the staff who are trying to hold on to their jobs will be on the line. I suggest management either provide training, or they need to start letting go of some rude ones before they continually bring the business down.
Calling out the server name JESSICA! You don't deserved any star at all! Your rudeness is beyond words! If you're not happy with your job and tired of doing the required customer service in the food industry, you shouldn't be working in a restaurant anymore. You can't just be rude to people because of their race. The audacity to run-after, questioned required the tip from the customer with your poor rude service?! Arrogantly telling us not to come back next time and eat in mcdonalds instead?! How can you be this rude?! That's really low class! I can't stand dining-in again to this place knowing you'll be there.
I 'm giving this place a single star because Yelp mandates a minimum rating for reviews. This star also goes out to the chef, who sincerely does make delicious food. My family 's from Hong Kong and I was born there, so while nothing can truly compare to the flavors in HK, it 's not bad for its location. But the reason I can 't give this place even at least 2 stars is because of the service. My family and I have been coming for years since 2017. At one point before the pandemic, we were there once a week, and within the past month, we 've been there more than once. The manager knows us, and so do a few of the servers. But, the quality of service has seriously deteriorated, and today was the last straw. One server, particularly Jessica, is extremely rude towards me and my family every single time. Apart from sounding annoyed each time she 's taken our order, she 's given us dirty side glances, and furrows her brows each time we make a request.Today, when we ordered soup, she sarcastically said, So what should I serve you this? This is standard practice when you order soup from them. She rudely and hurriedly served us our soup. We were out of water and our other beverages, but she never came by to check on our table. She would either give us a mean side eye or pretend like we weren 't there. It was getting awkward and uncomfortable, especially since we had a guest with us. When we paid, we honestly felt like she didn 't deserve a tip, so we left the change as a tip. When we left, another server chased us to question our. We explained that it was because of the poor service. She called our server, who began to harass us. She began raising her voice and pointed out that we didn 't leave a 15% tip. I explained that tips are service based, and what 's on the receipt is titled suggested. This means there is no minimum set that I need to follow, and technically, I don 't need to tip. Jessica persisted and said that she needs to charge us 15%. I responded that we would not be doing that and that her poor service didn 't deserve a tip in the first place. Jessica yelled, IF YOU WANT TO DO THAT, DO NOT EAT HERE. YOU SHOULD EAT AT MCDONALD 'S. Jessica repeated this several times as we tried to reason. At this point, we were completely appalled and humiliated. We called the manager and explained the entire situation. He apologized and explained that Jessica was tired, receives a low pay, and relies on tips. While I understand her situation, it does not warrant that level of rudeness. And these are management issues, that customers should not have to deal with. The fact that she ran out, was yelled at us and demanded a tip shows just how rude Jessica is. I am sure the cameras in the building can prove all of this. We 've always deemed tips to be service based, and this is reflected in the California Department of Industrial Relations, which states that tips are voluntary and based on the discretion of the patron. As long time customers of the Noodle, we always, always, tip, often meeting the minimum 15% or more. And we do this even if the service is subpar. We don 't typically encounter such terrible service with other servers. As I stated earlier, we lived in Hong Kong for several years and even own a business in a Chinese American community, so we are highly aware and appreciative of the cultural differences. What 's both sad and strange is that Jessica often mingles with Chinese customers at their table and serves them well. But the mean looks, rude tone, and brash attitude Jessica gave us make this seem personal. I hate to say it, but perhaps it 's because we 're Filipino. Maybe it 's because we 're not Chinese. Her service makes us feel unwelcome at the restaurant because of our race. I genuinely hope this is not a case of racism, since this is something I 've never encountered. I hesitated to say that this was a racist encounter, but I realize that individuals such as Jessica need to be called out becau
Horrible service, waited forever to get served even when it was not busy. Literally 3 waiters were standing idly, conversing with each other while we needed assistance. Waiter thought our tip was too low and actually point it out. I will admit it was on the lower end of the tip spectrum, it was within 3 dollars of the recommended minimum for over 70 dollars. However the audacity to say it was not high enough was very upsetting, especially after the subpar service.
Service and food quality leaves a bad taste in your mouth... especially at their current, post covid highly inflated prices
