Bidrage med feedbackI have to share my experience with Michelle, the most entertaining waitress I have ever met. Yes, we had quite the encounter, and it was one that...
We took a motorcycle ride and ended up here in Virginia. Our hotel recommended this seafood restaurant, and it was within walking distance, so we decided to check it out.
Overall rating: 3.5, not quite a 4. We arrived and were informed that there was a 90-minute wait to dine indoors. However, they do have a new covered outdoor dining area and bar setup available...
The restaurant was quite crowded, with tables placed closely together and no social distancing measures observed. All the fried dishes, including the fish and onion rings, were made with the same cornmeal batter. The sea bass/rockfish had a strong fishy taste and the skin remained on one side, which I wouldn't order again. Even during the off-season, it was busy due to limited competition. Overall, the food was just average. I visited once and decided not to return.
My wife and I frequently dine out and typically share an appetizer, salad, main course, and dessert, as we aren’t huge eaters. Our recent visit to Don’s, however, was quite disappointing. When our server brought out the food, they didn’t provide any plates for us. When we requested plates, the server informed us that they had the right to charge extra for them! I can’t understand why a restaurant would charge for plates—this is a first for me. The food itself was just average. We were visiting Chincoteague during the off-season, and with limited options available, we didn’t have much choice. If they need to cover costs like dishwashing, it would make more sense to incorporate those expenses into the food prices rather than imposing a surcharge on plates. This approach seems like a poor business decision to me.
