Bidrage med feedbackMy family is worried about my Pho Basil addiction. The broth is the best I have ever tried. So flavorful and robust in taste. Great service and fast too.
We have been to a lot of Pho places in Surrey and Langley, (and we may have tried them all), but we have just found that there is a gem of a place, right in Chilliwack. We recently got introduced to Pho Basil when it was recommended on a social media post. We decided to give it a try. My husband ordered the #15 which is a barbecued-type of pork skewer dish on vermicelli noodles and vegetables, served with the sweet/sour fish sauce vinegary sauce. Best taste so far in my mind, (he gave me a taste so I could compare with the other places we have eaten at, as he always orders the same type of dish). Two skewers of delicious pork! I had the small pho with beef brisket and beef ball combination, and wow, so delicious. Their broth is complex in taste...even better than the restaurants in the other two cities earlier mentioned. Pho Basil has them beat for taste. I am not sure why this restaurant doesn't have people lined up outside the door, but it could be that people don't know how to find parking there. We drove past it, heading towards downtown, turned left on Hodgins as if to go to the hospital, and took the first left turn at a street called "School street" and then drove the back alley to their parking lot, the same parking lot as Big O tires. No dangerous crossing traffic, and there is a large area to park. This is a restaurant not to be missed, and I know that by writing a review, it could become so busy that we might not find a table, but it needs to be recognized for great food. It is clean inside, booths are big, and food is yum. The price seems about the same as others, but I got way more meat in my soup than other places. Fills you up. Oh, and maybe the best part is that I get quite sick with gluten and I have not gotten sick here. Three visits in two weeks, two for pho, and one for lemongrass chicken, and no after-effects. I feel very happy to have a place where I feel the eating is safe. Pho Basil is worth going to, for sure!
My wife and I went to Pho Basil's today for lunch. She had the 5 meat pho soap and I had the rare beef pho soap. One of the first things I noticed when we sat down was how clean the restaurant was. The seating is spacious and the staff are fast and friendly. Once the soap came we were very happy with the ingredients and the taste. If you have or haven't had Pho soap before, I highly recommend trying the Pho Basil Restaurant in Chilliwack BC. They're on N Yale road next to the Tim Hortons.
I believe this restaurant has undergone new management and owners. Had out of town relatives visiting and decided to try this place. Ordered the Prawn and Pork Salad rolls with peanut sauce for appetizers to start.Main dishes: BBQ Lemongrass Chicken with rice; BBQ pork chop with rice; Beef Brisket pho; Rice vermicelli with BBQ Lemongrass chicken; Was not disappointed in the taste plus portions were quite large. Will try out other dishes next time!
I often go to Pho Basil on my evening work shifts and am never disappointed! This small family run restaurant has delicious pho and fresh, fragrant salad rolls! The very attentive service is very refreshing. I love the fact that he noticed right away that I needed more napkins and brought them to me without me requesting them. Very clean and you dont smell like pho when you leave.
