We go here once or twice a month. Choices basically stay the same. Lots to choose from and I enjoy the food. Good wonton and a decent selection of ice cream for my dessert. They have lots of sweets too.
Great buffet for being outside the Vancouver city area Food always tastes great but the egg foo young is without gravy: very unusual traditional Chinese food always has egg foo young with gravy even the Chinese restaurants in Vancouver have gravy for the egg foo young please add it to the buffet so that it can be a vast improvement
It 's been a while since I 've been here. This used to be a good bang for buck restaurant. Before, soft drinks were included in the price of the buffet, but that is no longer the case, and on top of that prices have gone up. The staff are friendly and did a good job of checking in on you and clearing out plates and bringing out new ones. The restaurant interior is very nice with plenty of seating. Having said that, the rest of the experience wasn 't that great. First of all, everything was sticky: the tables, and the food scoopers. The selection of the food was not as much as it used to be. There was an entire row of buffet trays that were empty. There was as many hot food items as there were dessert items. You have only the basics, which is fine if they tasted really good. But unfortunately the food was lackluster. Maybe they 've been soaking there for too long, but the wontons were completely tasteless. The fried rice , might as well been plain white rice. The fried items: fries, chicken nuggets and spring rolls were fine. The chow mein and rice noodles were bland. The Chinese BBQ pork was probably their best highlight. There is a nice selection of ice cream though. Of the Mandarin Garden 's in the Fraser Valley, I 'd stick with the one in Abbotsford.
