Tallboy Taco - Chicago

Well done all around. Surprisingly fresh and affordable food. Had a burrito bowl and loaded quesadilla. Team was happy to check on allergens. Hit the spot.

Arrived at 830p this evening and waited nearly 30 minutes for a quesadilla and two tacos. I wonder how long it would have been had we not asked about the order status. The food arrived packed to go, despite us sitting to dine in, very much a here 's you hat, what 's your hurry feeling. We ate outside and, I suppose, weren 't surprised that our food was cold. I wonder how long it had been sitting. In fairness, the portions are generous and the flavors are great. They were closing in 30 minutes, but the bottom line is that there is no excuse for service that poor. I recommend you trying it at your own risk. The quality of food might be worth it if you babysit them and try to get hot food in a reasonable amount of time.

I really wanted to like this place, first off clearly the staff was overwhelmed by a (to be fair very rude seeming) large group. We were told we would be brought water but it never came, we never got looked at. The staff spent the whole time with all the corner tables while we never got a single glance. Not even enough to flag someone down. The tacos were okay. Most of the tacos were flavorless, basically no seasoning at all. The chips and queso were really good though.

The tacos and queso were really good, the staff was super friendly, and the decor was very cool. It was surprisingly empty but it was great! Highly recommend
