Bidrage med feedbackThe food and service were both outstanding. Although the restaurant is small and the tables are close together, it's a minor issue. I have already made a reservation for my next visit.
We arrived at Parachute expecting a fantastic dining experience. We were disappointed with the second dish that was served. The onion and seafood pancake arrived and my second bite reveled a 12 inch long human hair cooked into the pancake. The dish was taken away and replaced a few minutes later with a less crispy, greasier version. I understand that this can happen in a restaurant kitchen but this is a place that charges $33 for a noodle salad. I was further disappointed by the lack of recognition of the error by anyone in the restaurant (other than quickly replacing the dish). No visit from a chef or manager, no offer of a free dessert, no removing the offending dish from the check. It’s easy to see why they are no longer a Michelin Star kitchen
The food at this restaurant is amazing and the atmosphere is fantastic. I would definitely recommend coming here! This might be the best Korean food we've ever had in the United States.
Parachute was a delightful dining experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks and would definitely consider returning for a special occasion. While some menu items were a bit pricey for the portion size, I simply wouldn't order them again. The standout dishes for me were the pork bossam, mushroom and chestnut rice, and mackerel. The bossam allowed for fun mix-and-match wraps with cabbage, shiso leaves, and pickled radish slices, paired with the delicious fatty pork. The pickled radish and watermelon radish kimchi were must-haves to balance the richness. The mushroom and chestnut rice was a savory-sweet delight that complemented the bossam perfectly. The mackerel was well-priced and flavorful, pairing nicely with the sauces. The only downside was the frozen tar tar, which was a bit difficult to enjoy despite its great flavor. The cocktails and rice wine were all tasty, and the bartender provided excellent service and explanations. Overall, I highly recommend grabbing a drink at Parachute and giving the Korean-inspired menu a try, despite some minor pricing issues. It's definitely worth a visit for fans of Korean cuisine.
I have no clue why this place is rated a 4.5. Legitimately one of the coolest restaurants I’ve been to in Chicago and the food was just so well done, so were the drinks. Amazing hospitality as well. Kudos to the team and happy 10 years!!!
