La Colombe Coffee Roasters - Chicago

I enjoy the oat iced lattes and hot drip coffee. I think the customer service leaves quite a bit to be desired (it used to be better), some of the male staff can be quite cold in their attitude. I recently asked what comes in a drink that they just recently started offering, and the male barista with a man bun/ponytail looked at me like I asked what comes in water, like it was a ridiculous question. I also saw this attitude weeks prior when another person who was much more unfamiliar with coffee asked what was a latte, they were also responded with the same tone. I felt bad for them because not everyone who comes into La Colombe knows about different coffee drinks, although it might seem unbelievable to the staff who deal with these drinks daily. From the customer's perspective, if I am about to pay $8-9 for a drink, it's better that I ask what comes in it rather than decide I don't like it and waste it and ask for it to be remade. The drinks are also not always made the same, depending on the barista. Once I asked for more of a specific flavor that I paid for and was not present in my drink, one of the male baristas told me to put more simple syrup if I wanted it to be sweeter, which is not what I wanted and not what I was asking.

I had: Almond Croissant Pumpkin spice Latte Service was great. Food was delicious. The music was soothing. The space is pretty small, with very limited seating. Other than that, I would definitely return.

Great coffee shop from an iconic brand in the Andersonville area. Good espresso, great tea selection and fun building. Only complaint is there is not enough seating for those who work or study in cafes. All in all, I recommend this location.

I love getting my beans from La Colombe. I have a lesser known coffee maker… Caitlyn and Jake were so amazing about trying to figure out the ideal grind for my device. I love passionate and knowledgeable people!

One of my go to’s in the area. Friendly staff, good coffee and pastries, just wish the music wasn’t as loud at times. But, that’s what noise canceling headphones are for.
