Butcher Bros Steakhouse - Cheshire

Waitress didn't listen when ordering, asked what was in mixed veggies and told her I had a severe allergy to peppers. Told me I would be fine. Food came out and it was covered in bell peppers. She didn't come back until we were almost finished to check on how things are. I wasn't able to eat any of the veggies. Room was also cold didn't seem to have the heat on. Rest of food was good.

Considering how pricey they are, I would say they are on the lower level of steakhouses in Connecticut. By far they do not compare to Flemings in West Hartford. The side portions were on the smaller side. Flavoring on the steak was scarce. Had to grab my own utensils from a neighboring empty table, because the waiter brought us our salad and we waited about 10 minutes with no utensils.

I would rate this restaurant as average. The service is decent, but the portion sizes are small and I find the prices to be too high. I wouldn’t recommend this place; instead, I always suggest trying Viron, which is just a minute away, or Brass City Bistro.

I had an amazing ribeye, and my wife's filet was fantastic as well. However, the food could have been served hotter when it arrived. Although I had made a reservation, we were seated at a table right in the middle of the dining area, near the main aisle leading to the restrooms, despite other tables being available. Next time, I’ll be sure to request a different table. Additionally, there was a band playing in the bar during peak dinner hours, which made it quite noisy.

This is the second time we've experienced poor service at this restaurant. On our latest visit, there were only two other occupied tables, so it wasn't busy at all. After about ten minutes, another couple was seated nearby. A few minutes later, the waiter took their drink order before even acknowledging us, despite the fact that we had arrived first. When he returned with their drinks, he went on to discuss the specials and took their order. I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I can’t help but feel that our race may have played a role in being overlooked. Ultimately, we decided not to give them our business and left. I won't be returning to this restaurant again. This disappointing experience echoes a similar one from last year, and after giving them a second chance tonight, they failed to prove otherwise, revealing their true colors.
