Bidrage med feedbackDecided to treat ourselves to a breakfast out. It was very pleasant sitting in the plant-filled courtyard outside the back of the restaurant. Zugers offers a good range of fairly priced breakfasts and we had a standard breakfast plus the vegetarian version. Both were cooked extremely well, presented nicely and were extremely tasty. The staff were courteous and efficient and the whole experience was highly enjoyable.
Super dog friendly place. Lovely staff, great food and drinks, all reasonably priced. Cakes are fab! This will be a weekly treat for us from now on.
My wife and I absolutely adore Zugers and it has become one of our go-to lunch spots in Chester. During our recent visit, I had such a delicious meal that I felt compelled to write a glowing review. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Big Breakfast Toastie, while I indulged in a Chicken Schnitzel baguette with Curry Mayo that was truly exceptional. The coffee was as delightful as always, the service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was sophisticated and relaxed. The quality of the food never fails to impress us. Needless to say, we will be returning to Zugers time and time again!
We decided to visit this restaurant because it was conveniently located near our hotel and we were very hungry. We were delighted to discover this hidden gem! Although it was quiet when we arrived, it quickly filled up as the day went on. I ordered a mocha and French toast, while my partner had a cooked breakfast along with tea and orange juice. The food arrived promptly and was beautifully presented. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The prices were reasonable and the food was of good quality and freshly prepared. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming.
Yesterday's experience at this long-standing establishment was a complete disappointment. The service and quality of cooking have noticeably declined from what they used to be. We chose to sit in the "garden" at the back, but our meal was disrupted by the noisy game of handball from neighboring office workers. After waiting 15 minutes for menus, I had to go inside to order at the till because our waitress was preoccupied chatting outside. The manager scolded me for not placing our order at the table. We ordered the Alpine Rosti, a house specialty, and two lattes. The lattes were served in tall sundae glasses and tasted like warm skimmed milk with a lack of coffee flavor. I asked for an extra shot of coffee, but I was charged 40p for it. After a 20-minute wait, I had to inquire about our Rosti, which finally arrived 25 minutes after ordering. Unfortunately, the dish was bland, not crispy, and lacked the gruyere cheese mentioned on the menu. Despite the disappointing meal, I reluctantly paid the overpriced bill. The coffee was weak, and the cakes and pastries looked unappealing. It seems that the management may have changed, leading to a decline in staff manners and cooking quality. We will not be returning to this establishment, as there are better cafes in Chester at a more reasonable price.
