Paysan - Cheshire West and Chester

Paysan is an awesome wine venue, one of the best that Chester has to offer, with Cavern of The Curious Gnome upstairs for beer lovers. The staff are all an absolute delight. If you're not sure what to have, they will listen to what you say you like and then find you something delicious and perfect. The chicken and chips is banging too.

A week ago, I visited this fantastic hidden gem with friends. The bar staff made it such a joy. I returned this week and the bar staff were so rude and aggressive toward me and my family. I respect they want to go home at midnight. When we ordered a bottle of red wine and a bottle of white, I wasn 't told I had 30 minutes to drink them, otherwise they 'd be taken away and that 's exactly what happened. I found the staff then to be so intimidating and I was fearful, as I honestly thought one of them was going to hit me, as he was raging. What a shame this happened. I was even asked by a passing policeman if I was alright, as I appeared scared. 'A customer is a privilege and not someone that should be taken for granted '. Customers have choices where they shop. When times get lean and customers don 't return, please take responsibility.

Stunning, atmospheric and historic venue for a pint of ale or a bottle from the lengthy and original wine list. Will come back for the cheese!

Outstanding, wine, cheese and staff!! We were wondering around Chester and saw Paysan. What a great find, ask the staff member for a recommendation for Aggie bottle off wine and he nailed it! Great price great taste Definitely pay as visit to Payson as it is great
