The Rising Sun Country Pub

A welcoming pub serving delicious food. Took my children out for lunch and they both ordered Panini’s, I ordered something off the specials board. Food was excellent and cooked to order and fresh. Service was great and we were well looked after we had a lovely time!!

We used to visit this restaurant years ago, but changes in management and poor menus deterred us. However, we noticed a lunch deal and learned of new management, so we decided to give it another try. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience. There was ample parking available in the car park and on the street. We were warmly greeted by a friendly young man and were able to choose where we wanted to sit. While our first choice of food was not available, there were plenty of traditional pub options to choose from. Our food arrived promptly and was delicious, with perfectly cooked vegetables and amazing chips. The pub was clean and dog-friendly. We have already decided to return, and my friend later messaged me to express how much she enjoyed the food. We look forward to trying their breakfast and evening menus next time.

Wanted to support a local business and booked a table for 6pm and arrived at 5:50. Only one member of staff on duty and had to wait for 10 minutes no problem ..Shown to table and left for 15 minutes before taking order. Waited 20 minutes for starters and then nothing. Eventually I told a member of staff that we'd been there an hour and only received our starters. She went to check and said that the food was being plated up. We then waited another 15 minutes before it turned up sausage and mash and quiche so nothing too difficult Very disappointed and unfortunately won't be returning which is a shame because we live just up the road and could have been regulars

We hosted our yearly gathering at The Rising Sun and ordered a variety of sandwiches and platters of fries. The sandwiches were delicious and there was plenty to go around, while the triple-cooked chips were fantastic. We will definitely be returning in the future.

The pub food here is mediocre at best. The staff were nice, but the quality of the food has declined since the new owners took over. The high Trip Advisor rating is likely from the previous owners, as the focus now seems to be more on drinks than food. Overall, it's more of a bar that serves okay food on the side.
