Bidrage med feedbackReally, really disappointed with our visit today. We had a drink each and a slice of traybake each. The drinks were ok but the traybakes were so tiny it was unbelievable. Two pieces cost us £9.00 and were not value for money at all.
The only good thing at Yarnton garden centre was the restaurant .it’s very friendly and the staff a lovely. The cloths shop is out of my price range. It’s just a mismatch of over priced nicknacks . Certainly not the same Yarnton garden ctr. of old.
Ok food but the service is terrible queueing to pay is so painfully slow ! And after 1.30 most of the food is gone . The place needs a manager to sort things out. It could be so much better
It's been a few months since we made a visit to the cafe. What a shock we had. The menu had changed and not for the better. The dishes were described as if we were eating in a posh restaurant not a cafe with Formica tables where you have to queue to put in your food order and pay, and the meals were over priced too. I had the cottage pie with heritage carrots. The dish of a very tasty cottage pie was far too small, more of a starter size, and the heritage carrots were a joke. 5 tiny carrots which were placed on the side were cold and tasted of grit. I wasn't prepared to eat more than the first one. And who has heard of jus with marmalade, it was more appropriate to be served on a pudding as it was so sweet and didn't go with a savoury dish at all. My friends sausage and mash was smothered in this concoction which she said ruined the dish. In all the 5 of us were disappointed with our chosen meals and it spoilt our day out.
We decided to pop in for a coffee and cake. Decided not to have a slice of cake as the price they wanted to charge was ridiculously high. As we moved along with the queue to order the coffees, we noticed that there were some fruit scones, no prices shown, perhaps we should have asked but they were so busy, we decided to have two of them, thinking that they’d be no more than £3 £3.25. When we ordered the coffees two coffees and two fruit scones, the total price was £15.70! way over priced. We normally visit Blue Diamond in Bicester and pay £12.50! for exactly the same, £8 for the two scones!! Most disappointed with the fruit scones, they were very dry and didn’t seem that fresh. The coffee was pretty good but the overall experience was poor and overpriced. Come on Yarnton Home Garden, don’t rip off your customers when your competitors don’t, ie Blue Diamond and Annie’s Tea Rooms.
