Bidrage med feedbackWe rented a narrow boat from Oxfordshire Narrowboats and decided to grab a bite to eat before setting off. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent, definitely worth a visit.
Kizzies is located next to the office and rental location for narrow boats to travel on the Oxford Canal. We stopped by for a meal before boarding our boat and again on our last morning after returning the boat. The breakfast and lunch menu is limited but satisfying, although the service can be hit or miss. Overall, we found that the nearby Bell restaurant, just half a kilometer away, is a better option.
I had a delicious meal at this restaurant with a cheesy tart, excellent salad, and a tasty house salad dressing. I always receive a warm welcome upon arrival and the service is always friendly. This restaurant is an essential part of my dining plans. The staff couldn't be more helpful.
My wife (confined to a wheelchair) arrived at a very rainy day at kizzies around 3.30. we asked if we could have a cup of tea and cake inside, but we're not being told, as we're clearing up. the only option (other than leaving) was to sit outside under umbrellas on rustic benches. Unfortunately, the orientation of the benches and umbrellas meant that no place was rain-free (rain drops from the screens) sharpened by the difficulty of maneuvering the wheelchair to ensure that my wife was dry. it was a very exhausting experience and one that I would not repeat, as it weakens a complete lack of care and care to customers who were not in the situation.
This is a lovely building in a beautiful location overlooking the canal and train station. The small garden is pleasant although there were a lot of wasps when we attended on Sunday. Whilst this is a lovely location and a nice building we were shocked...by the prices that they were charging. It was £2 for a can of coke which seems astronomical, and the poor lady who bought a large round of drinks in front of us was physically shocked at her bill. I think it’s worth walking into the village and going to the local pub, behind then church instead.
