Bidrage med feedbackHad the vegan hot pot here and it was great. The hours of operation of the food is a little difficult, especially since I was coming from out of town (living in Chongqing at the time). Quite a few mock meats available, which was amazing. And vegan moon cakes! I’d really give it a 3.5/5
A bit hard to get to near the south entrance to Sichuan University near bus station for 35 and 335 next to the river and bus stop for #1003. This is a clean family style restaurant with air conditioner and western toilet with toilet paper. No smoking. Though the staff doesn't speak English they are very friendly and helpful. The menu is in characters with photos and pricing, mostly 10-30 RMB($1.60-$5) We chose the two different variety trays, 6 items, 18 RMB($3) each, one hot and one not...the waitress warned us. The trays were the same except the main dish with mixed brown and white rice, lightly cooked bean spouts,Bitter melon???, a pickled diced long beans and a seaweed soup with white radish and fake ham. I had the hot: a substitute pork with hot and green peppers which was very nice. My gringo non vegetarian partner had the mild, Pork Ribs??? with pineapple and he figures it is his favorite vegetarian dish ever and will order a full serving the next time he comes. We also had a mixed chopped veggies and ham dish with buns for stuffing, 28 RMB

Located in downtown Chengdu, this vegetarian restaurant is a hidden gem. I always make sure to stop by for their delicious curried potatoes and veggie jiaozi whenever I'm in town. While they do serve yogurt, most items on the menu are vegan. Don't let the meat names fool you - the dishes are actually made with tofu and tempeh, not chicken or fish. The atmosphere is cozy and a bit more upscale compared to other restaurants nearby. The tables and chairs may not be the most comfortable, but the round table by the window is the best spot in the house. Unlike many dimly lit restaurants in Chengdu, this one is bright and cheery inside. The menu features colorful photos, making it easy for non-Chinese speakers to order. The prices are reasonable, and serving sizes are generous - you definitely won't leave hungry after a meal here.
Finding this restaurant is easy: when you reach the south gate of Sichuan University, don't go in, but instead turn right and walk about 200 meters. You will find the restaurant on your right. The food quality and ambiance are excellent, with dishes priced at around 15 to 30 RMB. Wifi is available. While the menu is in Chinese, it includes pictures of the dishes. [hidden link]
