Spice Lodge - Cheltenham

Took over 1 hour to get main coarse. Had to ask 3 times for table water No hand soap in toilets had to complain twice, not good in these times. Restaurant on the cold side of comfortable.

Despite the restaurant not being busy the service was extremely slow. The food was as usual excellent.

I made a reservation several weeks in advance and upon arrival, we were greeted and seated promptly. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was well-presented and delicious. Each of us ordered a different main course of lamb, beef, and chicken and shared rice and naan bread. For dessert, we enjoyed kolfi, an Indian ice cream. We chose to pair our meal with Cobra beer as Indian food doesn't typically go well with wine. The total bill for the four of us came to around £146, which was reasonable. Unfortunately, all four of us experienced stomach issues, commonly known as Delhi Belly, over the next three days. It is worth noting that I had traveled to France the following Tuesday and had a different diet than the others. Despite having visited the Spice Lodge three times before, I fear this may be our last visit due to the unfortunate outcome of this dining experience.

Marvellous from start to finish, shame there was no fraught beer option but that is a small thing really.
