High Rail - Chattanooga

Restaurant is located inside the Hilton which I didn't realize they don't validate parking. It was about 27 degrees outside the day we visited and we froze because they have to keep the main door (to the outside) open at all times. The pizza was the highlight but overall not a great experience.

Really great burgers and oven-fired pizzas! Cocktail drinks are also unique and delicious.

I would recommend the place only for the pizza, in the entrees there is a specific salad that is literally a whole lettuce cut in half with only a few small pieces of bacon and some vegetables. Depressing dish, also expensive for just lettuce.

High Rail sits atop the historic Chattanoogan Hotel, and offers dynamic views of both the city and Lookout Mountain. Recline on the open rooftop seating area, warming yourself by the fire pit, and relish a beautiful sunset if you time it right. Indoor seating and a cozy bar both remain available as well. The food proved well prepared, and we savored the loaded fries appetizer then brisket tacos and a pizza with delicious goat cheese. The service was friendly if slow, so the overall experience was most positive.

I do not fault the unfortunate staff working this night. They were understaffed and not able to serve the influx of what appeared to be travel sports guests. We did not stay as they were not prepared for our reservation and were clearly overwhelmed with the mismatch of staff and guests.
