Bidrage med feedbackGreat date night spot! Loved the mussels. Good service, yummy food!
The good: Hannah is awesome and extremely helpful with recommendations.Beer is awesome loved the funky ipa. Cocktails also were on point. Most of the food was amazingly flavorful: the charred broccoli, tomato toast (which had way more than tomato on it! , and the fire roasted pasta with shrimp. Oh my goodness all of these were so good. The only negative was the flank steak. It’s like it was sous vide for too long or something? We were basically served boiled beef it was med rare in the middle pieces but totally over on about 25% of it (and zero char/sear . 100% of it was flavorless and water logged. Super disappointing considering how good everything else was. The loaded mashed potatoes were a very tasty surprise.Totally looking forward to our next visit (sans any beef ; .
We had a wonderful experience with Daniel. My girlfriend and I are both servers and have management experience in food service and were blown away by the quality of service that Daniel provided. Easily the best server I’ve had. Daniel, still no band name…. But follow @ashtonfax on instagram and I’ll update you when there is a name.
I thought long and hard before making this review, but I feel like it needs to be said. My wife and I live downtown and have been here well over a couple dozen times. Some of the specials are fantastic, and the beer is incredible. My problem is that the kitchen has no idea how to properly cook red meat. One of my favorite dishes here was the butchers cut, unfortunately I just quit ordering it out of frustration from having to send it back basically every single time due to it being severely overcooked every time. I feel like mediun rare is a pretty common ask when dealing with steak, so I have a really hard time understanding why I had to keep sitting at the table and watch my wife eat while they had to replace my steak. I started ordering the burger and it was fantastic for a while, now they changed it. Instead of 1 nice-sized, juicy patty, its two, thin hockey pucks. We went last night and we both ordered the burger cooked medium. In typical fashion, they were both overcooked. My wife's was more medium well, but mine was so well done that I could barely cut it with the knife. There's no way you can charge $17 for a burger and present that garbage. They took it back and prepared a new one while I again sat and watched my wife eat. When they brought out the new one, it was still overcooked and I just went without eating. We had the crab rolls as an appetizer, and they were incredible. There are too many options available downtown rather than having to constantly battle with that. Unfortunately that will be our last visit to Monte.
We recently visited Hello Monty via recommendation from almost everyone in Chattanooga while visiting. They all said… “check out Hello Monty, it’s these two brothers, and their food and beer are some of the best in town, and they’re still running under the radar a bit. It’s a do not miss.”We 100% agree. Everything was excellent. We had the Caesar, collard greens melt (favorite), and a strawberry cream pancake for fun and each had a beer (but sampled them all). We would agree that the beer stood out among all of the breweries we visited in Chattanooga and absolutely loved our experience and the service as well as the two brothers who were indeed there and popped over to chat. Highly recommend! Thank your for a fun brunch over the holidays with great food and people!
