Flunch Chatellerault

We quite like Flunch, they are cheap and cheerful and this one was within walking distance of our hotel. They were featuring moule et frites which is a favourite. Unfortunately, they caused my wife to be very sick during the night (although I was OK.) This naturally soured the experience, but I guess that one bad mussel can be the cause, rather than the hygiene standard of the restaurant. Just be careful of the moule !

In case you didn't know, Flunch is French, and a large chain of restaurants. You know what you're going to get if you eat there - a reasonable selection of main dishes, salads, desserts and drinks. Vegetables are included and you can have as many as you want from the self-service.The food is generally good and in many cases better than some of the unimaginative brasseries you'll find in the town centres with their pizzas and burgers (although Flunch have burgers.) The system is easy to navigate and the staff are friendly and helpful. The resto is excellent value for money. As someone above suggested, it's probably not a good idea to go shortly before closing because the choice is more limited - but you should be OK for desserts!

We ofen eat in flunch Restaurants when we are in France and so are very familiar with the layouts and menus,this particular Flunch is attached to Auchan Chatallerault,which we found after getting directions from the tourist office and although the chap on the till who then consequently served me on the grill couldnt have been nicer as were the other staff I encountered the Food let them down,I asked for a roast chicken portion which was very minute and dried out and had obviously sat around for hours plus the choice of vegetables which is what 'flunch is known for was rather poor too, hopefully this was because it was a Thursday about an hour or so before they closed. very disapointing

Shanghai was recommend to me by a former Chinese resident and I wasn't disappointedThe food here is fantastic and the restaurant is quiet and clean.

NOT THAT IMPRESSIVE, NOT SURE I WOULD EAT THERE AGAIN.
