Bidrage med feedbackWe were a sunny Saturday noon in April, looking for a nice and quiet place for lunch. We were greeted by Aurélien who tells us that the restaurant is closed at noon this season, but since we were already there and that we wanted a beautiful salad not too complicated, it opened its door and concocted each one a magnificent salad (with quiche with spinach or square of cold pork! , with a glass of Saint-Pourçain that we savored on a terrace. What a welcome and the pleasure of being received so nicely, in all simplicity gourmet.
All the other restaurants in Chatel Guyon were closed so we landed here on Tuesday night with my husband. From the first few moments, something is wrong: the server proposes us to sit at a table not erect. The atmosphere is cold and heavy, and we are used peanuts for the air, in a gastronomic setting. The entrance is very mediocre: a salad of hot goats that arrive cold on the plate, probably prepared too soon. The waiter, in polo, explains that they've always done that. My husband also appreciates his terrine. The dish is the culmination of dinner: frog thighs without garlic and parsley, just with butter, with potatoes cooked with water without seasoning. I barely touch my dish that has no taste, which does not prevent them from charging us 70€ for this shameful dinner. Without even having the idea of apologizing or offering coffee. Fortunately, we saved the wine, the waiter who even forgot to ask us what we would take to accompany the meal. The impression of being honestly made to have.
Being half a board at the Bellevue Hotel, we were able to taste good dishes every night. The excellent homemade pies, varied menus never the same during the week), due to the fact home the delicious food without talking about the nice cold soups after a day under the heat, fresh vegetables and cooked), an impeccable service with always the smile and yet we were often the last to leave the restaurant. An address to be recommended for those who like to taste small home dishes.
This is the restaurant of Hotel Bellevue. We were delighted by the hotel but rather disappointed by the restaurant. We were served simple dishes, why not ... they were good, without being extraordinary (salmon and terrine). On the other hand, the main dish was barely average: a mediocre-quality fake dish, drowned in a not so successful sauce. The service is uneven: perfect when it was the young waitress, insufficient when it was the server. The latter lacks a lot of professionalism: it relies on the table, does not know how to properly produce a bottle (it has allowed to exceed the lambs of the capsule), etc. We had dinner on the very pleasant terrace.
