L'Entrecote - Châteauroux

We dropped by this town for lunch on the way to Paris. This place had very poor food... it was if they had re-heated everything including the chips and vegetables. And the steak was nothing special in the least. It's a shame, because the waiter was lovely.

Friendly service, eating outside when the weather is good, excellent food. Chateauroux is a great place to stay when travelling down to the Pyrenees Orientales and there are so many good places to eat but this restaurant is the most relaxed and has the best food. In addition to the Tournedos, they made up a giant green leaf salad which set off the steak to perfection, it was so good I went out to find a variety of good vinegarettes today. I realised that making the effort is worth it. After the meal I had a Kashmir Chai - the most delicate taste to leave the restaurant. They seem to think of every little thing in this place for a perfect meal and atmosphere.

Nice little restaurant in the centre of Chateauroux, very pleasant seating area outside. Impressive wine list, but didn't have the Margeaux I chose (not a big issue). Excellent food, very welcoming and friendly staff.

We sat outside this restaurant looking onto the square in Chateauroux, a beautiful temperature, clear skies and fantastic service with time to take it all in. The food and service was excellent at a reasonable price. We asked for salad and got a bowl of the freshest green salad I have ever had in a restaurant which accompanied the steak perfectly. We didn't need anything else....it was indeed a perfect experience.

We weren't sure what to expect from this restaurant, as the reviews so far are mixed.We needn't have worried though, as everything was fine.The food good. The serving staff, friendly and efficient. We found the atmosphere relaxing and the decor warm and modern.We would definitely return again.
