Bidrage med feedbackI recently visited this restaurant for coffee and cake. Despite the grumpy middle-aged lady servers, I always enjoy the delicious cakes and scones with a fantastic view (weather permitting, sit on the terrace). If you can overlook the unfriendly staff and don't mind waiting, you will have a pleasant experience. Many other reviews also mention the great desserts, beautiful location, and unsatisfied with the rude staff. It would be beneficial for the management to consider implementing a training course on customer service.
Fabulous lunch, great surroundings. Staff amazing. Glorious views. Couldn't ask for anything better.
The lady with short hair and glasses on the front desk is BEYOND rude. End of. Service poor and overpriced. Came as part of a charity day and didn't think it would be so stressful to get a cuppa! I witnessed another member of staff being rude to another table. Lovely setting, horrible staff.
The food at this restaurant is fantastic, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the views from the outdoor seating area are breathtaking. I highly suggest paying a visit! There are plenty of activities to enjoy, including walks, shopping, and complimentary buggy rides. Additionally, on Wednesdays and Fridays, there is a model train that runs for added entertainment.
Such theatre. We arrived at 2 20pm today for some light lunch, followed by cake and coffee before going for a walk. We were not sure if it was table service and went to the counter and stood waiting to be served by one of the 2 staff behind the counter. They did not look at us or offer any help and just completely ignored us. We were incredulous. So I interupted their conversation and asked them if we needed to find a table then order? one of the ladies asked if we had booked in, which if course we hadn 't! She then waved her arm telling us to go round to reception to book in and we would be shown to a table, she added, if there 's no one there just ring the bell and someone will come There was no one at reception, so we rang the bell, we waited again, of course, noone came so we rang the bell again and waited some more. We looked through the leaflets, and things on offer then and eventually went back into the cafe and spoke to another member of staff sitting at a table, who had just had her meal. She mentioned something about being gormless and went to fetch the receptionist, while sending us back to reception, the receptionis came, offered no apology but mumbled something and showed us to a table. The time was now 2.50pm and we were advised that there was no lunch being served, just cakes and a drink. We decided that would be ok. Looking round the cafe there were five other tables with people who had been served or who were waiting. We waited..by 3.10 no one had been to take our order. The receptionist then came into the room and spoke to the ladies on the next table who said that they had ordered a pot of tea 20 mins ago! It was clear that we were not going to be served soon.. And as the cafe closed at 4pm we decided that we would just leave. We went back to the food counter to inform the now 3 staff members who just stood there chatting, one with her arms folded, that realistically there was no time to have anything without feeling rushed, because of closing time! We were offered no apology. The staff need some serious inter personal training as well as skills in dining etiquette. The whole experience was quite awful which was also, thankfully highly amusing. We left feeling hungry, thirsty and disgruntled! I 'm pretty sure that if it were Victoria Wood being served, she would have had plenty of material for her next comedy sketch. The cakes did look delcious, but sadly we will never really know.!
