Spice Hut - Charnwood

We had the worst Indian food we have ever had for takeout. The food was inedible and did not resemble real Indian cuisine. The curries were gray and tasted terrible, we couldn't even identify what was in them. The rogan josh had no tomatoes and had the same color as the balti. They looked nothing like a normal balti and rogan josh, only the appearance was appealing. The saag aloo, which was supposed to be spinach and potatoes, was bright orange with what looked like carrots in it. We were extremely disappointed and would have refused to pay if we were dining in the restaurant. When we complained, the lady said they cook things differently.

I personally found the food at this restaurant to be delicious. I ordered the king prawn tikka masala. While I felt that the place could use a renovation, I don't think that would necessarily improve the appeal of the food. Unfortunately, my partner ordered the pathie and was unable to eat it. She described it as one of the worst dishes she has ever had. Despite this, I would still consider this restaurant a go-to spot for me when I am craving a curry and dining alone.

We enjoyed a delicious chicken tikka masala and pilau rice at this restaurant, but the onion bhajis were dry and lacking in flavor. The saag aloo had too much potato and not enough spinach, making it unbalanced. We were promised a free side dish if our order met a certain amount, but the carrot soup we received was not enjoyable. The sweet samosa was tasty, but the Bombay potatoes were very spicy. The order took an hour to arrive, and there was an unexpected service fee at the cash register. Despite the mixed experience, the delivery person was friendly.

After we looked at tripadvisor reviews, we decided to try this place. I would definitely recommend it! Eating was great, fast service and staff were really friendly and to round it off, the prices were very good.

Decided to order but didn't know of a decent Indian takeaway. Looked at reviews on an app so gave it a go. Possibly the best Indian takeaway I've had. Great food, delivered on time, really enjoyable.
