The Ivy Inn - Charlottesville

We went to the Inn tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary. In short our waitress , Jessica, was top notch. The food was excellent. The entire experience was just great. Just a well run group. In closing it is so refreshing to visit a restaurant where there were zero negative surprises. You guys have a fine group of employees who support that effort. Keep it up and we look forward to our next visit.

Absolutely delicious meal! To start, they brought us two glasses of champagne on the house to celebrate an occasion. They also brought out two varieties of bread and two servings of their house-made pimento cheese to share. Then, I had the roasted red pepper soup with bacon cheddar biscuits and chives. The biscuits were served essentially as soup-soaked croutons and they were sinful! The salmon was rich and even though I’m not much of an eggplant person, the paired eggplant was prepared to taste like balsamic. Our server saw I was abstaining from dessert so she also brought us the smallest sample to try of brownies to help us celebrate and satiate the dessert craving I kept at bay. It was a really special, romantic, and cozy dinner and I’d for sure recommend it to anyone looking to commemorate a birthday, anniversary, holiday, or other occasion.

I reserved a table for my husband and I to celebrate our anniversary. Walking into the restaurant, I knew it was very welcoming and intimate from the start. Love the candlelight and southern home feel. Excellent service by our waiter who made our evening special with conversation, politeness and professionalism. The food was delicious! I had the sweet potato empanada, the bolognese pasta, and the pumpkin cake for dessert. They also provided us complementary glasses of champagne and cookies at the end of the meal. Definitely would recommend any couple who wants to take their partner somewhere fancy and special. Thanks to the staff and chefs for everything!

I have eaten some Michelin star restaurants in my life and like this restaurant has not yet been awarded, is beyond me. The entire experience was perfect. The server was completely over everything, the presentation of the food was exceptional and the taste... I was blown away how tastefully everything was single bite from every single dish. The crispy pig bell appetizer was incredible. I literally slowed down to enjoy every bite of it. The lamb was delicious and perfectly finished. If you order drinks, I recommend the Rosemary's baby. Sooo smooth. We ate outside and it was so well made, comfortable and warm. If you are looking for a great place for a special night or just for a nice date night, this would be the place.

I must say, one of the best steaks I had perfectly seasoned in a while, cooked with a beautiful crust to a perfect medium rare, sides were oven roasted vegetables and peeled potatoes, all very well made A! At a table perfect for 2 persons elegant place settings with beautiful handleware set for a beautiful selection of wines they offer. Staff was there, if necessary we still had our privacy when we needed them, food came out in perfect time intervals drinks could have been better, and Brownie was a little dry, but a pleasant evening. Our dinner was during winter, so plan more reservations during the growing season and see how the menu changes with the seasons.
