Bidrage med feedbackHigh quality, sushi grade fish in Charlotte weve been searching for this since we moved here. Folks, this isn't fish camp territory. But if you're looking for incredibly tender ahi meant to be eaten raw or close to it no, not battered and deep fried this is heaven.
Ok so just prepare to get hosed by the prices here. Mentally prepare yourself to spend $80 on a bag of shrimp ? when online the same bag goes for $7.50 per lb....Those prices keep the lights on I guess. I get it. I wish there could be more small business seafood options in CLT.Food quality is obviously high, but overrated for the price tag most definitely.
Catch on Seafood is the only place I would purchase fresh fish!
So I go into this market to purchase some sole fillets. I ask for 2 lbs. It weighs out at 2.27 lbs. I go to checkout and the price comes to, are you ready for this....$181.60 for two pounds of sole. I asked if that was correct and I was told our sole is $80 per lb. I told them they could keep their fish. When I got back home, I checked into the price of sole at several different places and online stores. The average price for US Dover sole is about $15/lb. Holland Dover sole is about $40/b.Needless to say I will never go back to Clean Catch.
Their crab cake is really darn good, but super expensive. They do not advertise the price of anything when you go into the store, so expect that it will be incredibly over priced. Like $65 per pound for some fish and prawn. Like really really over priced.
