I visited for the first time and was impressed by how friendly everyone was. They pointed out the lunch specials, which I appreciated. I wanted to have enough food to take home, so I chose the brisket and pulled pork. Both were flavorful even without the sweet BBQ sauce. I also tried the triple chocolate cake, and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends and will be back again!

Now, let's talk about the food — it was absolutely delicious! The BBQ was fantastic, with plenty of sauce options to suit every palate, although the smoke flavor is so good that additional sauce isn’t really necessary. The potato salad was the best I've ever had (outside of home), and the ribs were incredibly tasty with generous portions. It's a lovely place to enjoy a meal, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great dining experience. Thank you, City BBQ!

I absolutely love their food! Everything I've tried is fantastic! Today, I had the ribs, and they were the best I've ever tasted! The sides are excellent, and the banana pudding is amazing! The staff is friendly and attentive too!

Just wanted to take a moment to throw good vibes out to great customer service! I don't throw endorsements willy-nilly, but we decided to try City Barbecue Matthews yesterday. Could not recommend more highly! We had a sampler, and the smoked turkey and pulled pork were AMAZING! Hands down the best BBQ I've had in the 18 years I've been in Charlotte! They also gave us a full selection of their 9 different sauces (only 2-3 were of the devil's east coast vinegar variety). The potato salad was EXCEPTIONAL! don't believe the negative Google reviews, if you grew up in the south, this is super legit! Also, the original reason I went was because I had an insatiable hunger for banana pudding. Not gonna lie. I picked up my order and as I was across the street, they called and let me know they had not put my banana pudding in my bag and if I was close I could come get it! I went back over, they took it off my debit and comped me! They also gave us a free jar of rub and coupons for being first time customers! Absolutely fantastic BBQ and customer service! Will be back for sure and recommend everyone visit!
