Bidrage med feedbackBest clam fritters I have ever had. The rest of the food not so great. Wait is always long.
If you're thinking of stopping at the hitching post for seafood consider hitching Up to a different establishment. We ordered whole fried clams and clam fritters and they were both terrible. The clams were $25 and were small with no bellies and a very small portion . Very disappointing. The fritters which they claim to be famous for, were nothing but fried dough. We had to dig through to look for pieces of clam and found one or two finger nails size pieces. To give credit where credit is dueSee pictures.
I visited this weekend after not going for a while, and we will definitely return. The fried shrimp was perfectly cooked, not overly breaded, and had a nice crispy texture. The clam strips were just as impressive. The clam fritters were also delicious. The service was friendly, adding to the overall positive experience.
Food is good. Service is touch and go. The wait on phone orders can be insane. But their clam fritters are def my favorite!
As someone who grew up in a seaside town this could not be farther from what I look for when I want my fried seafood fix. We paid over $40 for food that took practically two years to arrive and we barely touched it. I was craving fried scallops and we looked up the closest spot which led us here. I 'm used to delicious half dollar sized scallops but these were dime sized bay scallops. More breading than anything and it was impossible to taste any scallop . Also we were each charged an additional steep $4 for fries and coleslaw with our meal. There menu is absurdly small and leaves you with no choice but to order something lackluster. Purely a tourist trap, drive a little farther to get yourself a meal you won 't regret.
