Tropical Smoothie Cafe - Charleston

Stopped into the Grand Oaks location and ordered smoothies. Our order was taken by Emily T. , who while waiting on the smoothies to mix, proceeded to wipe her runny nose on to the back of her hand? and look at her hand??? She then placed the tops on the smoothies and proceeded to wipe her runny nose again onto her sleeve ?? When she returned to the register, I was so upset, I told her she needed to stop go and blow her nose wash her hands!!! She agreed and left to go blow her nose while wiping her nose with her hands again! Her coworker asked her what happened? Seconds later Emily was back at the register taking another order ! Not sure if she washed her hands, cleaned her nose?? All I know is this will be my last visit we threw our smoothies away once we left the store. Very disappointed disgusted !!

Today was my second visit to this location, and I left with the same feeling as if I shouldn't have come here. All the staff were in the back upon entering. After a few moments, a man with blonde hair emerged and refused eye contact with me. He whispered a hello and, after standing there for a few minutes, asked me what I would like to order. He seemed annoyed and distracted after further observation. Communication was lackluster. After he took my order, two other girls emerged. Neither gave a greeting (one's headband was covered in labels from a label maker. The other I'd interacted with on my first visit. Plus-sized with dark hair. Both looked annoyed. By this time, I was completely uncomfortable.When it was time to receive my order, the blonde-haired guy chose to place my drinks beside me, as if he didn't want me to see him and say something. He asked if I wanted a drink carrier (I ordered 3 drinks and was carrying a toddler so I told him yes. He brought the drink carrier over and instead of placing it in my out stretched hand, he decided to set it down on the counter. Mind you, it took more effort to reach over the tall partition glass to set the drink carrier down than it did to place it in my hand. I enjoy Tropical Smoothie, but this place makes me want to avoid it at all costs. I'm a frequent flyer of all the Tropical smoothies within the Charleston area, and this is the first place to make me feel uncomfortable for visiting and spending my money.

I sat for 20 minutes waiting for my order today. Found out after that they had lost it. They did go ahead and make it right away and give it to me. No apology for losing my order, nothing. I got home and the order was not even close to what I asked for. So I went back and told them it wasn't what I ordered. They didn't say a thing. No sorry. No will give you a free one. Nothing! In their defense. It was a crazy day. But, all I was looking for was somebody to say that they were sorry for making the wrong thing. I got all the way home, then had to come back to get it fixed.

I 99% of the time order through the app and it'll usually be ready by the time I get there. I find they're usually not as speedy as the other location, but still timely.Today, though, I decided to place my order inside. The employee was polite and efficient. The place was clean and orderly. There were about 3 other customers dining in.Having just come back from my 3 week trip to the Philippines, I was missing the daily glass of fresh mango juice I had while there and I immediately thought of my usual Mango Magic from Tropical Smoothie right away. After a few sips, it brought me back and the flavor was just refreshing... the fix that I exactly needed.Every time I order from here, I have no regrets. I can always count on Tropical Smoothie to satisfy my mango cravings and to keep me in line with my healthy journey.My only wish is that they'd have a drive-thru. Sometimes I honestly go to their neighbor's (SB) drive-thru when I'm in the area, (even though I'd rather have my Mango Magic) just because it's convenient at the last minute. Then after getting my SB order, I instantly regret it because I know Tropical Smoothie would've been healthier.

I was intending to leave a tip but I definitely will next time because they made my Peanut Paradise Smoothie too good!!!!!! It was perfect!!!! : : :
