Marina Variety Store - Charleston

Placed an order for 2 megadock platters and a shrimp dinner. Picked up my order around 8:50. Got home (which is 20 minutes away). Looked in the boxes and everything was burnt. Not sure if it was rushed since it was close to closing. I called back about 10:00 thinking there may be a answering machine where I could leave a message, but someone picked up. I explained what had happened to the young lady and she took my information and told me that she would pass it along to a manager the next day. I asked if she wanted me to save the food or discard of it. She said i could discard. I also let her know i took pictures. After not hearing from anyone I reached back out to the restaurant and was told that I could only receive half of my refund because of the time frame in which I picked up the food and called back to complain which was about an hour. Excuse me for taking an hour to get home, undress, and get comfortable before diving in my food. Being burnt doesn't happen from not eating your food right away. Cold yes, but not burnt. I would have even accepted the food being replaced because i didn't ask for a refund. I will not patronize this restaurant again.

Went there yesterday about noonish. I want to start off with saying that our server was very sweet, really liked her. The host couldn’t be bothered though with the longer darker hair. Very dry, rude, didn’t even look up from the host stand until another girl took us to a table. Not a good impression when first walking in somewhere. My daughter loved her pancakes, my husband was fine with what he had. I got the crab cake Benedict. Something about it wasn’t very good but I’m unsure. Leaving the food at a 4 stars because that could just be me!

Wheelchair accessibility: I was planning to visit Charleston for the day and grab some good seafood. This place was recommended. I saw pictures on social media of the restaurant. I called to ask if they had handicapped access, as I can’t do stairs and use a walker. No, was the answer and elevator broken? I’m disappointed that this place has NO ramp or easy access for a handicapped person. Sadly, they won’t get my business.

Best soft shell crab I've had in 20 years. I've only been here three time, but I will go back!

Had the grilled shrimp wrap for lunch. Very tasty. A little small but packed with grilled shrimp! My husband had the soft shell crab. Good size!
