Bidrage med feedbackHubby and I migrated King St. in search of food, in the general direction of a popular Burger church, when this place invited me to a sidewalk sign called Bahn Mi. It was an excellent moment of serenity that led to an amazing meal. We were warmly welcomed by the staff when the shocking AC fed the heat from our sun-pampered skin. The atmosphere was easy and comfortable, but clean and hip. We sat by a sweet hostess and Kevin, our waiter, immediately took our drinks orders and produced ice water as by magic. They don't have a ton of beer, but their choice is the choice. I have my favorite Stiegl Grapefruit cyclist and hubby ordered a Manhattan. My was freed to frigidize perfection and while being was not the best Manhattan he ever had, he said it was right up in the top 5. Kevin took our appetizer and entree orders at the same time, and soon we were loaded with my beautiful cup of She-crab soup, with hand-picked blue crab (I can tell) and dosed with the perfect splash Sherry. Small pieces of potatoes and the smallest carrots improved the silky broth without overwhelming the gorgeous meat. Hubby's shrimp taco app was a meal in itself, with 3 tacos beautifully presented in a stand, with delicate fried shrimps and a side of tantalizing pickled vegetables that were the perfect film for the creamy aioli sauce. Dangerously close to being full, we faced our entrees, delivered at the perfect moment when we finished the last bites of our appetizers. Kevin's on the point! My train mi was all I hoped it could be, with delicate fillet cooked moist perfection, seasoned with chicory and other exotic spices. The bread was fresh, soft on the inside and crusty on the outside to keep better in the meat's juices. There was a handful of Zilantro on the top that some might find overwhelming, but I found the perfect counterweight to the rich fleshy taste. It was a symphony! Hubby's Burger was ok, a hair boiled and underseasoned, but the meat was tasteful on itself, the vegetables could be fresh as, and the frits were worth writing home! So crack on the outside, with an almost panko crack, and light, steamy, fluffy perfection inside. We drove with remains in tow, blissfully full and glow with pleasure in a meal well-done. We will definitely be back for more!
We found this place when other plans went through, and we are very happy that we did! The interior is fascinating, with great works of art and atmosphere. Even better, our food was lovely.... Layers of taste and textures and prices were appropriate for the high quality of dishes. I recommend Ink N Ivy if you enjoy delicious food in interesting surroundings.
My three friends and I came and sat at the bar yesterday and ordered 4 salads and 2 “Mac and Greens” small plates to share. The salads were delicious, just like the Mac and Greens! The service was great and the bartender SL was super under the pressure of a restaurant-week crowd. Come on!
We have the roasted brussel sprouts with white bbq sauce, feta and sunflower seeds....wow!!! So dang good! Very recommended, even if you are not a fan of breasts! Loved the atmosphere! So gay!
