Boxcar Betty's - Charleston

With all the hype about Chicken Sandwiches in the last few years, when you see a place the SPECILIZES in Chicken Sandwiches, you know it's better to be good. I wasn't sure what to order, so I just chose the boxcar. It looked great and when I started eating it I was surprised. But when I went on, I had no more chicken, just a bunny! I was very disappointed because the sandwich was pretty good. My fries were a bit salty, but they're not the star. Anyway, I would give them another chance if I were close to another, but I felt I was cheated on my chicken portion size.

Had to come here for the hype. It was worth it. I had the original chicken sandwich with frits and fried green tomatoes and washed it with their sweet tea. Definitely worth a try if you like crispy chicken sandwiches.

Absolutely amazing! Everything about this place was fabulous. A little busy on a Sunday, but the waiting time for food was less than 8 minutes. We ate outside under their covered terrace cause inside was a full. But from amazing customer service to food, this place is highly recommended. Real full size chicken breast sandwich tasted better then every competitor had it. Your fries, OMG! I don't know what they do to them, but you have to taste them to believe them! If you are looking for something delicious, this is the place!

Especially. It takes a lot to surprise me. And a 12-generation Charleston locals. There's a good food here. And I saw good and great coming. Whatever. Fritt the sweet potatoes. Let's die. ... from the possible places on this planet. I've never had that good.... You must have them if you are within 100 miles. And the sandwich was a top 5th chicken sandwich, too. I never said thanks to a restaurant. But thanks for the surprise.

Boxcar sandwich is amazing! Great combo of pimiento cheese, peach slaw, pickles and fried chicken! I would come back here again! I totally recommend
