Bidrage med feedbackThe first time here and it was fantastic. Roomy. Great wine. Friendly staff. Nice view. What else do you want?
This is a great piece of property here in virginia. We find the wines quite decent and the prices to be in the area with other vineyards. The food is decent quality, although a very limited menu as you would expect from a winery. There is plenty of free space around the back to accommodate large groups. The staff was very helpful and on-site services. Something to note, they do not allow pets on the property. I know many wineries and breweries allow you to bring your four-legged friends, not this place.
For the first time visit today and again! The ride from Richmond along Route 5 is just beautiful. Parking in Upper Shirley was plentiful and easy and many people also drove their bikes along the main road. Really beautiful place, beautiful wine and good food. You can order at the counter or from an online menu, wherever you are? Drinks came out quickly, but we waited an hour for our food order. No problem because it was a beautiful day and we liked, but this is not a place to be in a hurry. Clean bathroom, nice staff. No pets or outside food and drinks. Overall highly recommended!
Such a hidden jewel! The shrimps and grits were amazing and very full. The flatbread and shrimp/spragus bisque were lovely!
Classic colonial feel and great fare. Both the truffle fries and oysters Rockefeller were well-prepared. Their gas fireplace was a popular seat on a cold windy day. I can see this venue must be popular during spring and can accommodate large groups. Bth wine tasting bar and tables offer views of the plantation next door.. Wine sampler is exactly that but gives a great description of each varietal as well as an opportunity to give you a lead on which wines you would like to drink by the glass or bottle. Being partial to red wines, our favorite was the petit verdot.
