Weaver Street also boasts a vast variety of wines and beers, and they offer locally brewed coffee as well. The hot and cold bars for breakfast, lunch, and dinner are fantastic, especially for vegans. For breakfast, they serve an outstanding tofu scramble, the best hash browns I've ever tasted, and delicious vegan oatmeal; you can enjoy a generous meal for under $5. The lunch and dinner salad bar is extensive, featuring all sorts of beans, vegetables, fruits, and excellent vegan dressings. The hot bars consistently provide delicious vegan options alongside meat and dairy dishes. Known throughout Chapel Hill/Carrboro for its superb bakery, Weaver Street offers exceptional breads and pastries, including several tasty vegan cakes and cupcakes. If you find yourself in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area, a visit to Weaver Street is absolutely essential!

There are many options available at the hot bar/buffet, but unfortunately, not for vegans. It seemed that the salad bar was the only vegan-friendly choice. The potatoes were prepared with butter, and the vegetables were drenched in cream. I was disappointed, but I moved on and ended up buying a loaf of delicious fresh bread and some hummus. The co-op has great prices on vegetables and hard-to-find items, so I would consider shopping for groceries here. However, if I’m craving hot, freshly made vegan cuisine, I’ll have to look elsewhere.
