Mama's Dinner - Chania

Ideal for a romantic or chic experience. the price is higher than in the average Greek restaurant, but the service and the thunfischtare are worth it.

Seriously one of the best restaurants I have been in the world! what a jewel in the middle of nowhere! eating is fantastic: well balanced and tasteful! others commented at the price, but this place was worth every penny. the most impressive part was the label! I learned to eat food label years ago and until my visit to mama’s I had not completely put it into practice, even in the most prestigious restaurants. my man and I were on this place several times and plan to go every time we dare to kreta. it is not often that I am very impressed, but this is one of these rare times.

We stopped for a fine dining experience on our way back from Balos beach. The setting is gorgeous, very warm and romantic for couples. We got grilled squid, avocado salad, seafood linguine and grilled lamb, all vegetables are very fresh, and the lamb was slow cooked in 65 degrees for 12 hrs, I like it as a non-lamb meager while my husband said it's not flavorful enough, the seafood linguine is very well made, only thing is the shrimp and mussels are frozen, which the waiters already mentioned when we made our order, so it was expected, hence I thought it was actually very good. I like their Greek wine selection, would recommend here if you like a good glass of wine and want to hear more from their recommendations. Overall, it's a nice dinner, nothing stunning in terms of flavor, but the setting is amazing. 80 € for 2 people, entree+main course+1 bottle of wine, sounds fair

The food there is extremely tasty, but the portions are extremely small and rather very expensive (comparing with prices in restaurants of the same category). We have made orders twice during the same visit, because one portion was not enough for sure to stop feel hunger (I'm slim fit) As a result 135€ for 3 persons for one dinner. I would not recommend this place to everyone, but I can recommend this place only if you want to please yourself with delicious food and don't take care how much it costs.
