Bidrage med feedbackNagato is famous for its yakitori! The owner of a small retro izakaya in front of Nagato station started a yakitori shop after her husband went fishing. That's why most of the businesses are run by women. The Nagato yakitori features chicken skewered with onions instead of scallions, giving it a sweet flavor. Sprinkling garlic powder on top is the classic Nagato style. The atmosphere is great, with friendly regular customers. Due to limited space, they recommend takeout for Covid-19 safety. Be sure to try it with garlic powder on top!
This small restaurant, with only counter seating, serves delicious yakitori grilled over charcoal. The best is the egg yakitori. It is said to be the oldest yakitori restaurant in Nagato City now.
Highly selected ingredients and cooking methods. A cozy restaurant. I stopped by Nagato on a business trip and had a delightful experience enjoying delicious grilled skewers with local regulars and the friendly mama-san. Highly recommended. Personally, I enjoyed "Hitaro" (without a photo) with young hiragi fish, dried kinkan, sunazuri sashimi, and chicken skin that was left slightly uncooked, which made it tasty. However, as I heard from a taxi driver, it may be necessary to be prepared to wait as it is popular but has limited seating.
