The Ivy House - Chalfont St. Giles

I've often whizzed past this place, stopped for a coffee once and thought it looked a good place to eat. And it is! Amazing roasts and great service in a lovely atmosphere.

Unassumingly good food. Everything we ate was tasty, particularly the fish and chips and smokehouse ribs pork belly. Mac and cheese up there with some of the best (even by US standards).

Such a lovely pub with a welcoming atmosphere. First time visit and was pleasantly surprised to see an open mic night on. That outdoor area under the grape vines when the lights are on is such a nice place to enjoy alfresco summer dining and with outdoor heaters, it will be a very hygge place to be in winter . Service was excellent and attentive from the friendly lady that looked after us . The food, sadly, didn't meet expectations. I ordered the rack of ribs £19) given that they have a smoker on-site and I'd heard good things about their food. But the ribs were far far too dry with almost no moisture left in the meat. Perhaps not spritzed enough throughout cooking or foil wrapped and stored correctly at the right times? Either way, I hope this was a one-off and I'll give them another try sometime. Will probably not risk the ribs again tho.

We went here for a meal on Saturday with our daughter to celebrate Father's Day. We were in the area and my daughter found it. Plenty of parking, a garden and plenty of space inside to sit down and eat. Lovely choice of food including a good vegetarian option. Excellent service although we did have to wait awhile between courses.

Cracking pub. We didnt stay over, so cant judge the rooms at all. We went for fish and chips, they were fantastic. The beer garden is great, but noisy from the road. Live music on friday evenings
