Bidrage med feedbackWe were disappointed by both the food and the service. There is a $10 minimum to use credit cards and we were at $9.85 with an egg tart, custard bun, jalapeño cheese hot dog bun and a pineapple chocolate bun. They were kind of rude about it and mentioned for us to remember the minimum next time, even saying I could Zelle her. Cmon, I was 15 cents short...They have frozen food available to go, like slices of cakes, beef noodle soup, Indonesian curry and other homemade things her mom made. The curry (which had shrimp and some other meats) was $15 so we declined. They didn 't have a big selection of baked goods but it was 4pm so it makes sense. The custard bun had MOSTLY bread and a SOLID piece of custard inside. The egg tart had the wrong kind of crust and was just okay. The pineapple chocolate bun was not a real pineapple bun and tasted mostly like bread. The only thing that was good was the jalapeño cheese hot dog bun, which I air fried at home to make nice and crispy.
Anything this bakery makes with mochi is a winner. I especially enjoy their mochi egg tart and red bean bun with mochi.
Formerly located in the Sea Palace (now Fresh Catch) plaza, adjacent to Cafe 86, Bake-Are-We's current location, across from H Mart, can be easily missed if one isn't looking for it. After Chinese food for lunch, my desire for a sweet treat led me here.Upon walking in for the first time, the first thing I noticed were the scant amount of goods on the shelf. Being lunchtime on a Thursday, not closing time, you'd think there would be a plethora of baked treats to choose from. Alas, not during my visit.I've read about Bake-Are-We's popular strawberry mochi, with a whole strawberry inside. That's what my mind was fixated upon. Unfortunately, I was informed their strawberry mochi is only available weekends. Trying to find an alternative, I couldn't find a suitable option due to the almost lack thereof.Service was fine. I was told by the woman working that masks were required, which the county lifted almost 2 years ago. I can debate the validity of county/city mandates till I turn blue, but having businesses making their own? Absurd. Would it fly if the situation were opposite? My first visit to Bake-Are-We, most probably my last. There are plenty of bakery options in the area, with fully stocked shelves of product. Bake-Are-We is located in an off the beaten path strip mall, without much to peruse over. Add to that their requirement for customers, and I left unsatisfied wanting more.
I absolutely love their egg salad sandwiches!!! I have my eye on the strawberry mochi cake ball, but have not had a chance to try it. It looks amazing. Service is fantastic
Best egg tart in town!! I don't have to fly to San Francisco to buy egg tart. The price is affordable. Their egg tart is softer and taller. Even taste is better. Thanks Bake are we!!
