Bidrage med feedbackLOVED the rice but the plantain was something else! The spices, the sweetness and the meat all YUM, the YUUM and then YUUUUUUMMM!!
So happy to find this place (recommended by y friend).. ordered ayamashe and fish pepper-soup. thoroughly enjoyed both, the fish pepper-soup hit the right spot on this very cold night and was a good portion too. my partner had the yam porridge with gizdodo and loved it too. the ayamashe made me remember my grandma. definitely found my spot. well done
Ordered via Uber eats, firstly surprised to see African cuisine, pricing was excellent and delivery was pretty quick as well. All in all a very pleased customer I am. So glad to know they are local too. Every time I miss me a good Nigerian dish, I now have my go to for sure. Thanks guys... Keep it up. I was even impressed with your environmentally friendly packaging
I have ordered from Ore Meji several times before and really enjoyed the food and portion despite having had to wait longer than expected most of the time. I found once before that the jollof rice and fish was not that fresh but it had been edible so hadn 't minded. My thinking was, one 'not so great ' order out of 10 orders is not bad. Tonight however, the order was 2 hours and 15 minutes late and the jollof rice tasted off. The fish also tasted bad and unfresh. Neither was edible. Had to throw them away. I was surprised. It seemed as if someone had put too much salt on the fish to try to disguish the fact that it tasted days off. Very disappointed and concerned that they thought such inedible food ok to serve to customers. Though I enjoyed the food from here before, I no longer feel I can trust what I am going to get so I wont be placing any order in the near future. Shame.
Like most African restaurants the service is awful and food is decent. They can't seem to get their delivery service right. Food doesn't arrive through Deliveroo and when ordering from the restaurant they got the items wrong... Dare I say incompetence? Who knows. If you have time to waste and want some Nigerian food then perhaps worth it. Also suya tastes like someone burnt the meat and tried to cover it up.
