Bidrage med feedbackAfter reading a great menu on Hyatt’s website of this restaurant and calling ahead to make a reservation, I was very disappointed when we checked in and was told it was buffet only. And a not so tasty one at that. When I questioned if it was an off night, they said no, and that it’s been buffet for years and Hyatt just hasn’t updated the website. I went to the bar restaurant next door, and with an hour wait, we decided to try the buffet as we were all hungry. Hind sight, wish we had waited for the other restaurant. The buffet was “South of the Border” themed. The food was horrible. Your basic Mexican restaurant would put this food to shame. Only good things there were roasted veggies and tortilla soup. The rest was pretty gross considering how much they charge. For two adults and two kids, our bill was $128 plus a tip. This was just food, and did not include any alcoholic beverages. For what we paid, the food was unacceptable. The only good thing about our dinner was that our waitress was great and attentive.
We booked the NYE meal described on the FB page. I received a call on the 30th asking if we wanted to eat in the ballroom or the restaurant. I asked which is better and they put us in the restaurant. They called again at 7:40 on NYE to tell us that we could come early since fireworks began at 9. Very late notice. We arrived at 8:30. Had we arrived at our reserved time, there would have been no service as the carving station wrapped up at 9. The menu was NOT at all what was described. The buffet was almost over. There was brisket and sausage, but none of the meal described- no prime rib; no oysters. They were out of the wine I ordered. They were out of chicken. We were disappointed. We ate, paid our ticket and left. I feel we were not informed properly of the event.
We usually do the Christmas brunch but that wasn't available due to Covid. Food was good, service was a little disjointed and there was no Christmas atmosphere in the restaurant. Hope the brunch is back next year.
First off, We went to the Hyatt for Christmas dinner. We both ended up very sick after the dinner. I am usually not a negative critic but that was one of the worst dinners we ever had. The food tasted like it was not fresh and like it was frozen and defrosted. The meat appeared to be pre-cooked frozen food and was not like the prime rib they advertise. Everything about the dinner was bad. The bread was stale, the cake was still half frozen. Definitely the worst Christmas dinner we have ever had. We booked the hotel because of the dinner but ended up greatly disappointed. I would expect better from a five star hotel.
The service was very slow and had to ask several times to get what we needed,
