Al Poggio Antico - Cautano

On the taburno this beautiful farmhouse located on the slopes of the mountain, is built on an ancient farm of 1800 and beautifully restored. beautiful to see, of great relaxation in spring you appreciate all the colors of the palette of a painter. good genuine food and wisely prepared, and of high quality, very good and abundant appetizer, in the menu two choices of first dishes, trophies made in the house) with sausage and tomatoes or asparagus and bacon, the second of meat we could not have got because we were full, sweet and delicious cookies)beni also made from the house, great aglianico wine, and I must say a nice day spent with friends coast less friendly family management

We chose this farm based on reviews and location, I must say that never chosen was more necessary. friendly friendly staff friendly and prepared, really great food with plentiful portions and quality superior to the standards, we can only thank for how we were welcomed thanks.

We stayed at Al Poggio Antico when we were in Cautano for a wedding September 2013. It was lovely! Rustic, charming, cozy, well appointed and the proprietor Giovanni and his assistant Massimo could not have been nicer. Although we ate with my family they say the food is wonderful and they are some fine cooks themselves! The breakfast was very good and they accommodated a special dietary request as well. The setting is peaceful, bucolic and picturesque. I highly recommend it if you are in the area as a very nice place to stay. I have only tried the restaurant, not the hotel, but was really a good experience. Very nice traditional athmosphere, well decorated, super-corteous service, and the food is absolutely amazing. Huge portions of very traditional local food, perfectly prepared. I had a very interesting vegetable, beans and cooked bread soup that I never tried and superb grilled lamb. They have not a great choice of wine, but the locally produced Aglianico del Beneventano is a good wine for the food they serve. The countryside is very nice, the establishment is in the middle of vinyards and olive plantations, very nice. Recommended
