Bidrage med feedbackHad dinner here with family, and it was hit n miss, the chicken wing skewer was yummy, stock soup taste okay, pickled soup look like witch brew n taste awful, im a very easy going person with food n willing to try anything, but this one is just no-no. The mix seafood&meat platter taste okay but somehow it was not spicy enough&it was not fragrant, they should've put coriander or something. Overal was okay, will go back n try their famous fish. Btw the resto was packed! Ask to sit upstairs better.
Strongly recommend as this is a true Chinese cuisine. It reminded me good roast fish restaurant near my high school back in China. We had frozen fish for an affordable price. The flavor doesn't tastes like frozen ones as they taste fresh. The staff was friendly both on second floor and first floor. I will go back.
The roast fish in sauce seems to be a popular dish around town, and this place<br/ does it well. The live 花鲈鱼 Murray Cod AUD36/lbs (AUD80/kg). Ours was around<br/ 850g, or AUD70, which included the roasted fish served in a cast-iron pot over<br/ hot coals, covered in sauce. We also added toppings of quail eggs AUD4.80,<br/ wood ear mushrooms AUD3, beancurd sticks AUD3, potato slices AUD3, and Chinese<br/ cabbage AUD3.<br/ <br/ The mild tomato sauce was very good. Can't wait to try the spicier ones!<br/ <br/ The rice noodle soup was also very good, with slippery silky rice noodles, generously topped with a meat of your choice, plus tofu, wood ear mushrooms and vegetables.
It is certainly authentic Chinese food Spicy, spicy and sour. The beef noodle soup was hot and spicy, not to mention plentiful and tasty. My son had lamb ribs with rice, which was also delicious, with quite a bit of lamb on the bones. The service is very good and friendly, the ambience is quite busy and even a bit noisy, but happening. Pumpkin pancakes were very nice and substantial--I took home 3 of the 6 I was too full. It has only been open 2 months and I think it's the opposite of bland. I do like spicy it is true, and have travelled in many cities in China quite often. It is informal/casual, and they have Tsingtao beer. They also specialise in spicy fish--barramundi and bass.
The food is tasty but the portion sizes are small for their price. We ordered a shredded pork and eggplant in ginger sauce among other items. It was the cheapest at $20.80 but there was NO PORK! When we asked the staff, they couldn’t understand what we were asking. Then the chef came out and confirmed there was no pork. When asked why, he said it was because some customers don’t like pork!!! They still charged us $20.80. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
