Joyce Irish Pub - Catania

Bad experience, bad serving, bad english for irish pub. Spent too much time waiting for orders to come to the table

Whilst on holiday , my wife and I were looking for a good venue to watch England play Tunisia , have a meal and a drink. We looked up a couple of places , and decided to check them out , we settled on this , the Irish Pub. We looked inside and it was a really lovely ,Olde Wolde type of pub, it had character and proper charm. The Staff were immediately friendly and showed us the menu when we asked about food. They were serving what I’d call good pub food. It wasn’t expensive either. It had a choice of screens to watch the match too! A large one outdoors in the garden and several in the pub. We stayed inside as we had a super seat. We were told how long the food would be , and it was spot on time, it was tasty and I ate all mine, my wife had a vegetable pie, which when it came was fairly big , my wife loved it , but couldn’t eat it all ,due to its large portion size! I had several beers and my wife tried a cocktail which she loved. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff they couldn’t have been more helpful. After the match, the land lady Clelia chatted to us asked us where we were staying and ordered us a taxi as we knew the last bus had gone. She even made sure we were not over charged ,she went out of the pub and spoke to the taxi driver when he’d arrived, frankly I thought that was beyond what was expected of her. Our hotel had told us it would cost 20 Euros to get back to the 4 Spar hotel where we were staying. Clelia said to us I’ve got it for you for 18 euros !!! Now we got ripped off a few times with Taxis in Malta only the week before, so I’m very grateful to her. What more can anyone ask for . Clelia was ably supported by Rosaria at the pub. If you are looking for a venue to watch England in the World Cup look no further .Good food and drink too. I’d like to thank all the team for a job well done. Saluti ! Mike and Tracie from England x

Found the only open Irish pub in catania and were delighted to see the murphys sign outside- very nice pub, lovely outside area at the back, beer good and we were delighted to have a chat to the cool managers clelia and Claudio.

Pleasantly surprised that they find this local pub with great friendly staff and wonderful drinks. I will be there every day for great drinks, friendly people and pizza.
