Sammy's - CASTROVILLE

Was thrilled to try this place due to reviews. Yes, I don't understand the hype. the hot Brat rip sandwich I got was dry and the engraving added, did not help. our fried mushrooms were blanching and the other plates ordered tasty as if it were just microshafted. it was just not worth the price for everything. the only good part was the brot. our waitress was nice and the staff was friendly. not sure if that was just a bad day and they didn't have the personal or that's usual and the other reviews were on a rare good day.

We waited for 50 minutes for our food and it wasn?t very busy at all. The other guests with us Coffee ran out and they had to get up and ask another server to fill it up. When the food finally arrived it was all cold! I heard the quality went down but i will never come back. Also, the mold coming from the ac vents looks horrible.

Decided to venture out for breakfast. Great place to go for a comfort food. Excellent service. Coffee cups always full!!! Biscuits home made. Sausage yummy. Hashbrowns nice an crispy. French toast not too sweet just right. If you want some homemade food, awesome prices and great service head over to Sammy's.

On the road and driving through, this place was perfect. Plenty of room to park a camper. My husband had the special, Santa Fe chicken, which would come quicker if you?re in a hurry. I had quesadillas. Everything, I mean everything is from scratch and taste like you were eating at a friends house. The comfort level for this Sunday dinner was great. We left a 22%tip.

This place has a real cool feel to it. Love how the interior has not changed since it was built. The wait to get our food was a bit long at 35 min for two people but it's understandable due to the whole short staffing of restaurants and it being a small town and all. As with my rating the food was just ok, a bit underwhelming but the atmosphere and everything makes it a place I might just have to try again. Especially to try one of their homemade pies.
