Anna Dei Sapori - CASTELNUOVO CILENTO

Nice place, nice hospitality and kindness of the owners. For years I have come to the clento but in the kitchen of this restaurant I have not found, despite the genuineness of the products, the typical characteristics of the Cilentani flavors.

Invited by friends we had the pleasure of knowing this wonderful reality. Elegant and refined environment with a warm and courteous welcome by Anna who recommended us on the pampered menu throughout the evening. Preparation and presentation of dishes at the highest level with prevalence of products or km 0. Thanks for this sensory experience.

I visit this restaurant occasionally in summer. They have some good real local food, and the setting in a garden is quite pleasant, especially during hot summer days. That said, I must warn you that the menu is quite limited (it is the same since years , and the actual availability is even more limited then what is listed (I was disappointed to discover, for instance, that of the two listed soups, only one is actually available in any given day i.e. there is a choice, but it is their choice, not yours... . Service is kind but distracted more family stile than professional. Finally, it is really a pity that there is so little attention to wine: the choice is quite limited (not sure there is an actual printed list , and what is worse, I frequently found it to be slightly sour. I suspect this to be due to the bottles not being properly stored they seem to be sitting in a shelf on the wall of a large non refrigerated room, with plenty of sunlight during the day. I suggest to skip the wine and go for some other beverage. Overall, the good food makes it an OK place if you know the warnings.

This is a family run place I keep coming back to. While the menu is rather limited, it is made of absolutely real, fresh ingredients. I am particularly fond of their wild asparagus the owner gets them personally from the nearby fields, and they make a wonderful pasta. The garden offers a most welcome break from the hot days of summer. It is definitely a place to try. Just do not expect much from the wine list but this is a common issue in Campania's restaurants, unfortunately.

Highly recommend this place. Had a lovely dinner in a really nice setting here. Staff are friendly and we wanted to go back but we're running out of time during our trip.
