Bidrage med feedbackWe discovered this place in our neighbourhood and went their the first time. It's a family business, the husband is dining the kitchen and the wife the restaurant. There where a few tables occupied and we had a warm welcome. The food we ordered was good and well presented. Good local win list reasonable priced. I believe a place where you can also go with a family. However not so easy to find in the small village but parking is not a problem in the streets outside the restaurant.
Yes this place is a little run down, its a family run business which is a little tired. Madame is a little grumpy but can smile. The food is nice and very French as expected. We have been a number of times with friends and have always had a nice , but sometimes strange, evening !!!!!
Having read the reviews on Trip advisor we were expecting good basic rural French food in a comfortable, if old fashioned setting. Sadly we were hugely disappointed. Madame grudgingly showed us to a table, we rather felt we were interrupting her evening and the service continued in that vein. Glasses were chipped, there were holes in the tablecloth and the room shabby and full of faded, dusty nic naks. It lacked atmosphere of any sort and this was compounded by the tinny sound of a local pop radio station blaring out of a speaker in the corner. The food however was better than the surroundings indicated. The home-made fois gras was excellent, steaks tender and cooked as requested. My husband had pigeon which was also very food. The only let down was my duck breast which was tough and dry. The desserts also left something to be desired. In summary I'd say there are far better restaurants locally where the food matches that at Auberge La Caleche so I'd suggest giving it a wide berth.
In the middle of the village of Peyrans, this is the favourite restaurant of my relatives who live locally and I can quite understand why. Attractively decorated in local country style with beautiful old furniture, the restaurant offers three menus for 15, 18 and 24 euros. Duck is the local speciality and is beautifully cooked and presented here with elegant accompaniments.
Very cute place for brunchI found it when I was hungry while doing my laundry across the streetI had a tasty ham and cheese omelette.
