Hotel Du Roc Restaurant - Castellane

A very lively restaurant, so that the expectations were high, later I saw the reviews here that were the opposite. And so we experienced this restaurant: I had the Portuguese cadry and liked the taste and the fact that it was something unusual. but my...man had a very bad steak: hard and dry. ice cream had many ice crystals in it. so overall an average experience and too expensive (castellane overall is quite expensive) older waiter is very friendly, especially for children

We stayed here whilst camping in Castellane. The food was excellent we had dish of the day, Coq-u-vin. We may have preferred to have mashed potato rather than chips but that is the only criticism. We had a lovely white wine Chateau Rousette. The staff...were friendly and the restaurant has a great atmosphere.

We were staying in the area and wanted to see Castellane. We set off early to get there but didn't realize how hairy the pass through the gorge was which meant we arrived in Castellane just after two pm. We approached several restaurants who told...us that they were now closed. We were starving and gutted at the prospect of missing lunch. My husband thought we would try this hotel restaurant as our last attempt to get a sit down lunch. we were delighted when they welcomed us in. We had the dish of the day which was a lovely beef stew cooked in white wine, served with carrots and chips. This was followed by a crème caramel, and all washed down by a nicely chilled bottle of rose. I cant remember the total bill, but remember that we were shocked by cheap it was was. The décor of the restaurant was very simple, and made me feel like I was in a different age. However it was very restful and pleasant. Likewise the waitress was very polite and helpful. Despite us not speaking any French, and her not speaking any English we made do, and got there in the end : We will be forever grateful to them for saving our day, and serving us lunch!

The worst restaurant in the four continents of the planet on which I set foot. No adjective to qualify him. Pass your way.
