Da Besse - CASTELCUCCO

Da Besse was recommended to us by our B&B hosts; they promised us great local food, especially meat so we tried it and stayed impressed. Dont expect luxury restaurant, but when you are looking primary for great, tasty and freshly homemade food for good price (instead of luxury interior its worth to visit. We had homemade pasta, tagliata and capretto everything soo tasty :

DA Besse opens for lunch at 12:00, and the room was filled by 12:15. A lot of working men came to eat, and for good reason...as there is no way to leave hungry. Everyone in the room got the lunch special, which began with a pasta appetizer (lasagna, penne, and other choices). We thought we were done (it was a huge first course) until they brought an empty dinner plate for each of us. All of a sudden servers came out with trays of various foods, and went table to table serving as much of each as you wanted. There were at least half a dozen varied meats (one may have been the local favorite-cavallo) and vegetables. To finish lunch we were provided a very powerful Espresso shot. The food quality was very good and fresh, the service friendly. It is a working mans lunch, and they do it very well. Also...all this for 11 Euro. Beer and wine is available.

Abbiamo trascorso una serata piacevole... seduti all'aperto in una serata fresca. Il cibo rustico tipico era delizioso. La tagliata e i contorni misti erano ottimi, così come il piatto di salumi semplice ma gustoso. Il vino era di buona qualità e i prezzi erano nella media.
