A l'Hotel de Ville - Cassel

This is a typical French brasserie that offers a great value, the plate du jour is 9 euro for a generous part. are they honest, for 9 euro they expect a sharp kitchen? Now what they do is good food, well cooked and at a...big price. the service is french, efficient and friendly we loved the experience

We thought here for lunch as our first vote and other restaurants recommended on tripadvisor were full and we had not reserved. there were seats outside and the menu of the day seemed nice for 3 courses for about €15. in the inner looked a little dated, but. we decided to give it a chance. it was a mistake. eating was very tasteless. lamm curry had no taste and was served with chips. the cream brûlée was clear package mix, thick and I left it. the waitress was clearly very busy and almost impossible to get attention without catching up and finding them. the restaurant is simple and toilets are not very nice. all in all I would not recommend it and it was a disappointing experience, as I had in the past nice memories of the lunch in cassel, so it had chosen for a birthday contract.

We just stopped for a drink and pancakes. They are really very good. The patron has a very great choice of beer and is very friendly.

My friend and I stopped here for lunch when passing through.We sat in the sun and enjoyed a cold beer and a Welsch Complete which was a cheese and ham dish. Very tasty. We called back a couple of nights later but they weren't doing...meals,just snacks .He did recommend the next restaurant along,where we sat for nearly 20 mins before the chef decided to stop chatting to his friends and acknowledge us. A lady eventually gave us a menu but did not ask for a drink order and when the chef came 2 seconds later and swore because we hadn't had time to read the menu,let alone decide,we left.

Très bonne localisation du restaurant, sur la Grand Place et en face de l'office de tourisme, pratique pour enchaîner ensuite avec un des nombreux itinéraires proposés à pied et en vélo.Cuisine traditionnelle, simple mais de qualité, je suis surprise de lire les expériences négatives que les gens ont pu connaître. Cela n'a pas du tout été notre cas, l'accueil était chaleureux et nous avons passe un moment convivial.
