El Charro Mexican Grill - Cartersville

Really disappointed in this place. I didn't really care for the salsa. I ordered a sweet tea and never actually got a drink until the food came. I got to pay $3 dollars for a half cup of tea. Ordered a large cheese dip and it was not good either. It was almost yellow and was so thick. It just didn't melt. I had been looking forward to eating at this place since we moved here 3 months ago. Mexican food is my favorite type of food but this just wasn't good for me. I was really hoping to find my new favorite spot. Plus there was some guy sitting behind us that was so loud and trying to show off and let everyone know that he was important. Even the people that were with him left.

My friend and I enjoyed this cute place for lunch on a Friday. The food is fantastic! The service very good. He didn't return for drink refills but that's the only negative I have about this young man. He was very personable. The decor is old Spanish style. We loved it!

Always soooooo good! Love the street tacos fajitas! Oh and don’t forget to order a delicious marg- my fave is the passion fruit

Second visit and still not impressed. The decor is dated, worn and dark. The lakefront dining is a man made irrigation pond.All of this I would overlook, if the food was good but it is not and is rather bland and poorly seasoned. I have tried burritos and tacos, couldn’t finish either, they were not great. Maybe the drinks are good and this is why so many people flock here. I don’t know because I don’t drink. I will stick with Taco Jalisco. They have no decor, no alcohol, no drainage pond or outside dining but the food is outstanding. That’s all I really care about and that’s why I gave two stars. Two stars for fast service but about that’s it.
