I ate here years ago and got sick, but decided to give them another shot today. The food quality is C+ at best, with the best meats being those with sauce that actually gives it flavor. Then when I was paying, before I could take my cash out to tip theserver, she asked why I didn?t leave a tip on the receipt. If you want a tip here?s a couple. One, start cooking better food. Two, rename the place to ?Lin?s Barffet?.
Everything else on the menu is fantastic as well! Their chicken dumplings, pork ribs in red sauce, fried fish, chicken wings, and chicken skewers are all top-notch. The long green beans and onions are delicious too! Plus, the fried shrimp, fried frog legs (yes, frog legs—you MUST try them!), fried donut bread, and fried bananas are a must. Even the fresh fruit and their orange Jell-O are amazing! I’m not sure what they use to achieve that opaque texture instead of clear, but it’s possibly the best Jell-O I’ve ever had! Make sure to arrive early, especially if you want some of that roast beef. I got there around 12:30 PM, and by the time I left around 1:30 PM, it was all gone. The service is excellent as well; the staff is quick to refill drinks, ensuring they never drop below half before checking in. I always leave a good tip, and I recommend you do the same! You absolutely have to try this place on the weekends when they serve the roast—you won’t regret it! I’m not sure if they serve roast on weekdays, but they have a great lunch price for that time too!
I dined here on September 10, 2022, and found that most of the dishes were at least decent, with a few standout items. The frog legs were incredible, and while the coconut shrimp was a bit older, it was still tasty. The rice surpassed Panda Express's version, and the flan was outstanding for what it is. Their fried spring rolls were also enjoyable, lacking the off-putting taste often found in low-quality ones. If you're a fan of buffets, you'll likely appreciate this one. Personally, I wasn't fond of the beef roast, but I must admit it was very tender and cooked quite well.
One aspect I appreciated was their unique savory dishes, like frog legs and blue crab, which are hard to find elsewhere. The crawfish had a nice flavor in the tail, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, I was very satisfied with the ambiance, the selection of food, and the careful preparation of each item. The service, in particular, was exceptional, making a significant difference in my dining experience. I will definitely return to Lin's Asian Buffet and recommend it to others.
