Bidrage med feedbackI absolutely enjoyed the breakfast out on the patio. The sausage and plain omelette were great, along with the typical continental options. The rooms come equipped with a fridge, freezer, and microwave, which is very convenient. The linens were nice, and I appreciated having Dove soap in the shower. It's also conveniently located near the freeway entrance. While some might find the noise from the traffic bothersome, I personally didn’t notice any disturbance, whether inside or outside. Overall, I would rate the rooms a solid 5 out of 5.
This is undoubtedly the best place to stay in Carpinteria! It's incredibly convenient to both the town and the beach, with just a short walk or an even quicker drive. During the summer, the hotel is often fully booked, but there's always enough parking available, even if it's not a lot. The rooms are slightly below the standard of a typical Holiday Inn Express, meaning they could use some updates soon, but they are significantly more spacious than the average HIE, featuring two queen beds and a pullout sofa sleeper. Occasionally, some front desk staff may not be very warm, and there have been times when the rooms weren't cleaned thoroughly (for instance, with hair left in the tub or the sofa bed sheets not appearing fresh). However, we stay here at least once a year and plan to return. The landscaping is beautiful, and the parking lots are always well-maintained. Nearby activities include an easy stroll to downtown and the beach, and Carp Bluffs, which is especially lovely at sunset or during the breeding season in spring. The area is very walkable, making it easy to explore and enjoy Carpinteria.
I absolutely loved this place and would definitely return. The breakfast was fantastic—an extensive free spread with everything you could think of! The pool was nice, not exceeding 5 feet deep, and the rooms were clean. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It's within walking distance to shops and restaurants, or just a quick 5 to 10-minute drive. There's plenty of free parking available, along with a small fitness room.
I had the unfortunate experience of staying just one night at the Holiday Inn Express Suites Carpinteria and I can confidently say I will not be returning.Firstly, there were major security issues for female travelers, which made me feel extremely uneasy. Not to mention, the supposed non-smoking hotel was a complete joke as the smoke from outside traveled right into the rooms through the side exit door where people were smoking. As if that wasn't enough, the slamming exit door made it impossible to sleep through the night due to the loud noises.I was also concerned about my safety since the window in my room didn't lock, had no screen, and had nothing blocking anyone from coming right up to it and opening it. I had to use hangers and other devices to block the window from opening. The broken TV and constantly running toilet didn't add any value to my stay, but what really terrified me was the large peep hole that allowed anyone to see everything from outside my door. And to make matters worse, the curtains in my room didn't even close all the way, which made me feel like I was in a fishbowl.I travel with extra items to help keep my room secure but didn’t have enough to make sure I felt safe during this particular stay. I am thankful there were extra hangers to use!Lastly, to top off my terrible experience, there were cobwebs everywhere and spiders crawling around the room.I would highly recommend avoiding room 100 or 101 unless you enjoy sleeping with one eye open. This hotel stay was not worth the $300 for one might money and left me feeling extremely vulnerable and disappointed.
Spent Friday and Saturday night here last week 7/7/23-7/9/23). For the price $329 on Friday and $379 on Saturday) this hotel is pretty bad. The floor in our room was incredibly dirty. After showering and walking to the bed the bottom of our feet were black. When we checked in the Do Not Disturb sign was in the bathroom trash can and the bathroom counter had clearly not been cleaned. The blackout draperies in the room were almost inoperable and took way too much effort to close at night. The hotel is in need of a complete renovation. The pool was clean and enjoyable, but both times we used the pool the clean towel stands were empty. The staff was friendly enough and the free breakfast is about what you 'd expect, nothing special but it was good enough. If it was cheaper it would have been easier to stomach the shortcomings, but for nearly $900 for two nights even one star might be a stretch.
